Inclusivity Etiquette in Uganda

Public life in Uganda is generally welcoming, but people are expected to be discreet about sexuality, gender identity, and other identity issues, especially in conservative or religious settings. In cities and among younger Ugandans you may find more openness, yet open displays or discussions that challenge local social norms can draw discomfort or hostility, so a low-key, respectful approach is safest.
