Tea is the more common everyday hot drink in Uganda, usually taken sweet and often with milk, while
coffee is widely grown but less central to daily socializing. In homes and roadside eateries, it is normal to be offered a cup of
tea first, and in the coffee-growing areas people may still serve local coffee as a point of pride, but instant coffee is more of an urban convenience than a traditional habit.
