Greet people politely before getting to business, and use your
right hand for handshakes, giving or receiving items, and eating when possible. In Uganda, respectful greetings and a calm, unhurried manner matter a lot, and in more traditional settings people may also expect a slight nod or a handshake that lingers briefly as a sign of warmth.
