Public displays of affection are generally kept very modest in Uganda, so holding hands is usually fine but kissing, hugging, or lingering touch in public can draw uncomfortable attention, especially outside nightlife areas. In more conservative or rural settings, couples often avoid overt affection altogether, while in cities people may be a bit more relaxed but still tend to keep it discreet.
