Smoking Etiquette in Uganda

Smoking is generally tolerated in Uganda in designated outdoor areas, bars, and some social settings, but you should avoid lighting up in enclosed public places, government buildings, and near people who may object. In practice, many Ugandans are conservative about smoking in front of elders, women, or children, and offering a cigarette is not a common social gesture unless you are in a very casual group.
