Swearing Etiquette in Rwanda

Swearing is generally kept very private in Rwanda, and loud profanity in public can be seen as rude, aggressive, or disrespectful. In everyday conversation people tend to use restrained language, especially around elders or in formal settings, and even heated disagreements are usually handled with more indirect wording.
