Smoking Etiquette in Rwanda

Smoking is generally frowned upon in public places in Rwanda, so it is best to avoid lighting up on streets, in shops, or around families unless you are clearly in a designated smoking area. In Kigali and other urban areas you may see smoking in bars or hotel terraces, but many people still consider it impolite and prefer a discreet, out-of-the-way habit.
