Drinking Water Etiquette in Rwanda

Tap water is generally not considered safe to drink in Rwanda, so visitors usually rely on sealed bottled water or boiled and filtered water for drinking and brushing teeth. In hotels, restaurants, and homes, it is normal to be offered bottled water, and in rural areas people may use boiled water or treated water from communal sources rather than drinking straight from the tap.
