LGBTQ Etiquette in Ukraine

Public attitudes toward LGBTQ people in Ukraine are mixed and can be conservative outside major cities, so travelers should avoid assuming open acceptance everywhere and be discreet in more traditional settings. In Kyiv, Lviv, and other larger urban areas there is a visible LGBTQ scene and events such as KyivPride, but public displays of affection may still draw unwanted attention, especially from older people or in smaller towns.
