Photography Etiquette in Cameroon

Always ask before photographing people, especially in rural areas, markets, and around traditional chiefs or ceremonies, because many Cameroonians consider unsolicited photos intrusive. In some places you may be expected to pay a small fee or tip for portraits or for taking pictures of sacred sites, and military, police, government buildings, and border posts should not be photographed without permission.
