Recycling is still uneven in Peru, so travelers should not assume that every hotel, restaurant, or street bin has separate collection for paper, plastic, and glass. In Lima and other larger cities you may find color-coded bins or private recycling points, but the norm is to carry recyclables until you can sort them properly rather than relying on public infrastructure.
