Bills are commonly paid in person at banks, service counters, or convenience stores, and many people still prefer cash or debit over automatic recurring payments. In Peru, keeping receipts is important because payments can take a day or more to register, and for utilities or rent it is normal to ask for a printed voucher or confirmation number as proof.
