Dining Etiquette in Peru

Meals are usually social and unhurried, so wait to be seated or invited to start, keep your hands visible on the table, and expect lunch to be the main meal of the day. In more traditional settings, it is polite to try a little of everything offered, and if you are invited to a family meal or a picanterĂa, finishing your plate is appreciated as a sign of respect.
