Transportation Etiquette in Mongolia

In Mongolia, long-distance travel is often done by shared minibuses, intercity buses, or domestic flights, while in the countryside you may need to rely on a driver with a 4x4 because roads can disappear into open steppe. In Ulaanbaatar, traffic is heavy and taxis are common but should be arranged through an app or a clearly agreed fare, and on rural trips it is normal to bring extra fuel, water, and patience because schedules are flexible and breakdowns are part of travel.
