Bills are usually paid in cash at banks, post offices, or service counters, and many people still prefer to settle utilities and phone charges in person rather than by card. In Ulaanbaatar, larger shops and newer apartments may accept bank transfers or mobile payments, but carrying cash is still the safest expectation outside the capital and in smaller towns.
