Avoid stepping on or pointing your feet at a person, altar, or the threshold of a
ger, and do not touch someone’s head or pass items with the left hand if you can help it. In traditional settings, the threshold and the hearth are treated as especially sensitive parts of the home, and entering a ger calmly and respectfully is a sign of good manners.
