Tipping Etiquette in Sri Lanka

Tipping is appreciated in Sri Lanka but usually modest: in restaurants, hotels, and for drivers or guides, a small extra amount is common if service is good, while many bills already include a service charge. In everyday situations people often round up or leave a little cash rather than a fixed percentage, and in smaller local eateries or tea shops tipping is less expected than in tourist-oriented places.
