Bargaining is normal in markets, with tuk-tuk rides, souvenirs, and some guesthouse or tour prices often expected to be negotiated before you agree. Keep the tone friendly and light, because haggling is usually a practical back-and-forth rather than a hard-sell contest, while fixed-price shops, supermarkets, and many restaurants generally do not bargain.
