Bill Paying Etiquette in Sri Lanka

Bills are usually settled promptly, but in many shops, guesthouses, and small restaurants it is normal to ask for the bill at the counter or wait for the staff to bring it rather than expecting it automatically. In more traditional or family-run places, payment may be handled a bit informally and with a smile, while larger hotels and urban businesses are more likely to use fixed prices and printed receipts.
