Smoking is generally restricted to designated outdoor areas and smoking rooms, and lighting up in restaurants, bars, public transport, workplaces, and most indoor public spaces is not acceptable. In Poland you may still see people smoking outside cafés, at bus stops, or near building entrances, but it is polite to step away from doorways and ask before smoking in a private home.
