Smoking Etiquette in North Korea

Smoking is common and generally accepted in public for men, especially in outdoor spaces, restaurants, and around workplaces, though you should still avoid lighting up in clearly restricted areas or in front of officials unless others are doing so. Women smoking is much less visible and can draw attention, and cigarettes are often offered as a social gesture in male company, reflecting a more relaxed everyday attitude than in many other countries.
