Bargaining Etiquette in North Korea

Bargaining is generally not part of everyday shopping in North Korea, especially in state-run shops, hotels, and official markets where prices are usually fixed or tightly controlled. In the few places where informal negotiation may happen, such as with private sellers or guides, it is done quietly and cautiously because pricing can be sensitive and the rules can change depending on the venue and the authorities present.
