Punctuality Etiquette in Iraq

Being on time is appreciated for formal meetings, business appointments, and official events, but social gatherings in Iraq often start later than scheduled and a short delay is usually not seen as rude. If you are invited to a family meal or a wedding, arriving a little after the stated time is often more comfortable, though you should still be punctual for anything tied to prayer times, government offices, or a host who has asked for strict timing.
