Dining Etiquette in Iraq

Meals are usually generous and communal, so wait to be invited to start, accept at least a little of what is offered, and expect hosts to insist on second helpings as a sign of respect. In many homes and traditional gatherings, eating with the right hand is the norm, and sharing dishes of rice, stews, and bread is common, especially during family visits and festive occasions.
