Physical Touch Etiquette in Iraq

Physical touch between unrelated men and women is usually kept very limited in public, so avoid hugging, cheek-kissing, or casual contact unless the other person clearly initiates it. Among close friends and relatives of the same gender, handshakes, cheek kisses, and walking arm-in-arm are more common, while public displays of affection are generally restrained.
