Tattoos are generally accepted in Costa Rica, especially in cities and tourist areas, so visible ink usually does not cause offense in everyday settings. Older or more conservative people may still associate large or highly visible tattoos with a rebellious image, but they are common enough that you can dress normally without trying to hide them.
