Recycling Etiquette in Chile

Recycling in Chile is still uneven, so travelers should not assume the same curbside sorting system they may know from home and should look for clearly marked bins or ask where glass, plastic, and paper are accepted. In Santiago and other larger cities, recycling points are more common and many neighborhoods and malls separate waste, but outside urban areas it is often simpler to carry recyclables until you find an appropriate collection spot.
