Bargaining Etiquette in Chile

Bargaining is generally not expected in Chilean shops, supermarkets, taxis, or restaurants, where prices are usually fixed and haggling can feel out of place. The main exceptions are informal markets, street stalls, and some independent sellers, where a polite, light negotiation may work if you keep it friendly and low-key.
