Dining Etiquette in Chile
Meals are usually relaxed and social, and it is normal to wait until everyone is served before starting, keep your hands visible on the table, and leave a small tip of about 10% in restaurants if service is not already included. Dinner often starts late by many visitors’ standards, and at home or in casual settings you may be offered tea, coffee, or a late-afternoon snack called once rather than a full evening meal.
