Chile is relatively accepting in major cities, so LGBTQ travelers usually face little issue in everyday settings, but public displays of affection are still best kept moderate outside progressive urban areas. Same-sex marriage is legal and anti-discrimination protections exist, yet older or more conservative circles may be more reserved, so discretion and reading the room are useful in smaller towns or family settings.
