Queueing Etiquette in Brazil

In Brazil, queueing is often looser than in more rule-bound countries, so people may cluster around a counter, ask who is next, or try to get served by speaking directly to staff rather than waiting in a perfectly straight line. In busy places like banks, clinics, and government offices, numbered tickets and an explicit call system are common, and in informal settings a polite but firm presence usually works better than silently holding your place.
