tuk-tuks for getting around, and agree on a fare or make sure the meter is used before you start if the price is not already fixed. On buses and trains, keep your voice low and avoid blocking doors or seats, and remember that the BTS and MRT are especially practical in Bangkok while tuk-tuks are more of a short-hop, tourist-friendly option than a daily commuter choice.
