Recycling is still uneven in Thailand, so travelers should not assume that every hotel, street bin, or restaurant separates waste; if you want to recycle, look for clearly labeled collection points or ask staff where bottles, cans, and paper go. In Bangkok and other cities, informal waste pickers and neighborhood recyclers often handle much of the sorting, while plastic bags and single-use packaging remain common, so bringing a reusable bottle or bag is more practical than expecting a robust curbside system.
