Meat Etiquette in Oman

Meat is central to Omani hospitality, and guests are often offered lamb, chicken, or goat dishes at family meals and celebrations, so it is polite to accept at least a small portion if you can. Pork is generally avoided because of Islamic dietary rules, and during festive occasions you may see traditional dishes like shuwa served from a communal platter.
