Offer and accept small cups of Omani coffee, called
qahwa, as a sign of hospitality, and it is polite to take at least one cup before setting the cup down to signal you are finished. Tea is also common in homes and shops, but the strongest local custom is the serving of qahwa with dates to guests, often poured in a
majlis during visits or formal gatherings.
