Being on time is expected in Hungary for business meetings, appointments, and formal social plans, so arriving a few minutes early is usually safer than being late. In casual gatherings there is a bit more flexibility, but repeated lateness without notice is still seen as disrespectful, especially in professional settings and when meeting older people or hosts.
