PDA Etiquette in Hungary

Public displays of affection are usually kept modest in Hungary, so holding hands or a quick kiss is fine, but prolonged hugging, heavy petting, or loud romantic behavior can draw uncomfortable looks, especially outside nightlife areas. In Budapest people are generally more relaxed, while in smaller towns, on public transport, and around older generations a restrained, low-key style is more in line with everyday etiquette.
