Carry small cash or tissues and expect many public toilets to be basic, with limited paper, soap, or running water, so it is normal to bring your own supplies and use the facilities quickly. In homes and some restaurants, a bucket, scoop, or shared wash area may be used instead of a Western-style flush toilet, and in rural areas or roadside stops you may encounter simple squat latrines.
