Dining Etiquette in China

At meals, wait for the host to seat you and start eating, and use chopsticks politely without sticking them upright in rice or pointing them at people. Shared dishes are common, so take food from the communal plates with the serving utensils when provided, and it is normal for the host to order generously and encourage you to keep eating.
