Greetings Etiquette in Zambia

A polite greeting is expected before any business or request, and it is normal to ask after someone’s health and family rather than jumping straight to the point. Handshakes are common, often gentle and sometimes accompanied by a slight bow or using both hands, while elders are greeted first and titles are used until invited to be informal.
