Tipping Etiquette in Uruguay

Tipping is appreciated but not expected in Uruguay, and in many places a small 5–10% gratuity for good service is enough if a service charge has not already been added. In restaurants, cafés, and taxis, locals usually round up or leave modest change rather than following a strict tipping rule, so you will not offend anyone by keeping it light.
