Sustainability Etiquette in Turkmenistan

Sustainability is usually framed more as conserving scarce water, gas, and electricity than as a consumer lifestyle, so travelers should expect practical thrift to be valued over visible eco-branding. In cities and especially in the desert, people are used to reusing what they can and avoiding waste, while formal recycling and green initiatives are still limited and not yet a strong everyday social norm.
