Smoking Etiquette in Turkey

Smoking is still fairly common in Turkey, but you should only do it in designated smoking areas and avoid lighting up in indoor public places, restaurants, and public transport. In cafés, tea gardens, and some outdoor social spaces you may see people smoking openly, yet it is polite to ask before smoking near others and to be especially considerate around families and older people.
