Bargaining is normal in
bazaars, street markets,
carpet shops, and with some taxi or souvenir sellers, but it should be done politely and with a smile rather than aggressively. In fixed-price stores, malls, and most restaurants the price is usually not negotiable, while in traditional markets a little back-and-forth is expected and often part of the social ritual.
