Meat Etiquette in Turkey

Meat is commonly eaten in Turkey, but it is usually served as part of a meal rather than as a huge standalone portion, with lamb, beef, and chicken appearing in kebabs, stews, and grilled dishes. Because many Turks are Muslim, pork is uncommon and often avoided, so if you are invited to eat with locals it is safest to choose halal-friendly dishes and expect meat to be prepared according to Islamic dietary norms.
