Tipping Etiquette in Malawi

Tipping is appreciated in Malawi but usually modest, and in many everyday situations it is not expected unless the service was especially helpful. In hotels, lodges, and safari camps, small tips for porters, drivers, and guides are common, while in local restaurants people often just round up or leave a little extra if service was good.
