Bargaining is normal in informal markets, roadside stalls, and when hiring taxis or buying crafts, but it should be done politely and with a smile rather than as a hard confrontation. Prices in supermarkets, restaurants, and most formal shops are usually fixed, and in village settings people may expect a brief friendly exchange before discussing the price.
