Queueing Etiquette in Japan

People in Japan generally queue in an orderly, quiet line and wait their turn without cutting, even when no one is actively enforcing it. This is especially visible at train platforms, elevators, shops, and popular restaurants, where standing in line neatly and respecting the group flow is seen as basic courtesy.
