Sustainability is usually practiced very pragmatically in Haiti: people conserve water, reuse containers and materials, and rely on local markets and small-scale farming because resources can be limited and infrastructure uneven. Community efforts around
reforestation, waste cleanup, and reducing dependence on imported goods are common, especially in areas where environmental damage from deforestation and flooding has made everyday resourcefulness a necessity.
