Meat Etiquette in Haiti

Meat is often eaten in stews, grilled, or fried, with pork and goat especially common in home cooking and at celebrations, while beef and chicken are also widely used. A distinctly Haitian dish to know is griot, marinated fried pork usually served with pikliz, and meat is often stretched with rice, beans, or plantains rather than served in large portions.
